River Ridge Golf Course is an 18-hole Golf Club located in south Edmonton. We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented individual with excellent communication and leadership skills to fill our Golf Course Superintendent position.
Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical defects/failures in various golf course maintenance equipment, including, diesel-, electric- and gasoline-powered mowers, and other mechanical equipment used in golf course maintenance work
Work with the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent and senior management team to achieve course excellence through a commitment to maintaining an effective fleet of equipment.
Develop the art of sharpening using sophisticated grinding equipment and cutting unit theory
Carry out preventative maintenance as per OEM recommendations, including detailed record keeping
Help train staff in the safe and efficient use of golf course maintenance equipment.
Order and maintain parts inventory for all equipment and work with management to ensure equipment is at a high level of preparedness
Maintain a preventive maintenance program within budget on all equipment while keeping detailed inventory of purchased parts and replacement
Spot check equipment for performance on the course, make emergency repairs to equipment on the course, and services or supervises servicing of equipment prior to use
Oversees the shop area maintenance, ensure that all safety measures are being followed at all times.
Oversee the equipment and maintenance in and around the clubhouse and proshop
3-5-years of equipment technician experience within the golf, automotive, agricultural, or heavy equipment field
Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and on-board computer systems in a timely manner
Ability to move heavy objects - must be able to lift 50+ pounds
Ability to fabricate ie.. welding, grinding, cutting, necessary items(tools, parts, etc.) for equipment and equipment
Ability to identify quality of cut issues and determine appropriate repair
Special Requirements:
Must possess a clean driver’s abstract
Open minded
